Cape Town’s vintage clothing market recently got a shot of old-school glamour with the opening of The Cat’s Meow in Woodstock. Situated right next to the entrance to the Old Biscuit Mill, The Cat’s Meow is a wonderland of vintage clothing and accessories.

Prices are astoundingly reasonable and stock is updated every Friday so there are always fresh looks and accessories.
The space itself, with vintage Vogue covers adorning the walls, Art Deco furniture dotted with pretty negligees, collectable tea sets and twinkling brooches, and Etta James and Patsy Cline providing the soundtrack, is definitely worth a visit.
Laura or Barbara are always on hand to advise, or share the story attached to your purchase. ‘We’ve always loved collecting vintage attire. When our collection outgrew our home, we decided it was time to open a store and share it with others who’ll appreciate it,’ says Barbara.
